Veterinary Teaching Hospital has been established to produce skilled and competent veterinarians to meet the challenges of growing modernization and commercialization in livestock farming focusing on food safety, zoonotic disease and community health hazards control in Nepal.

Objectives

This hospital is a major component of B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.V.Sc. & PhD programs with following objectives:

• To provide quality education, conduct research activities and extend research findings
• To provide quality service to the farmers by specialized veterinary experts
• To provide field oriented practical knowledge and skills to the students

Services available at VTH

OPD Unit

The services to the farmers are available daily by the experts except Saturday and Public holidays.

Surgical, Medical and Gynaecological Unit

The referred complicated cases from the OPD are considered for further diagnosis and treatment by Surgical, Medical and Gynaecological units as per need.

Laboratory Unit

Stool, urine, milk, blood, semen, water etc. are examined and cultured for further diagnosis.

X-ray and USG Unit

These are used for diagnosis and treatment for diseases.

Artificial Insemination Service is available at VTH

Post-Mortem Unit

Conducts post-mortem examination for the diagnosis and prevention of diseases. Besides above services, VTH organizes animal health and infertility camps by experts along with ambulatory clinical services for the disabled animals.
